Water Distribution System Operator/Trainee

The East Windsor Municipal Utilities Authority is seeking a career minded individual for its Water Distribution Dept. Position includes but is not limited to meter reading, repairing and maintaining the Authority’s water mains, valves, hydrants, services and meters.  Pipeline construction/repair experience desirable.  Backhoe experience a plus.  Must obtain CDL within 6 months of hire.  One week per month On Call duty is required. Must be available to respond to water system emergencies.

Mechanic

The East Windsor Municipal Utilities Authority is seeking a career minded individual for its Maintenance Dept.  Position includes, but is not limited to, repairing and maintaining the Authority’s water and wastewater treatment plant mechanical, electrical and instrumentation systems.  Minimum 5 years experience required. Must be able to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions. Must possess adequate knowledge of approved methods, practices, code requirements and safety standards.  Must obtain CDL within 6 months of hire. Must be available to respond to plant emergencies.

Water Maintenance Foreman (F/T)

East Windsor Municipal Utilities Authority is accepting applications for the following position: Water Maintenance Foreman (F/T). East Windsor Municipal Utilities Authority is seeking a career minded individual to lead its water department. This position directs and manages the water maintenance and production activities of the Water facilities throughout the Township. Applicant is in charge of coordination, direction and training of employees within the water utility department as well as developing work methods and procedures. Must have five years of experience in work involving the maintenance, repair and installation of water infrastructure. At least three years in a supervisory capacity. Possess a valid license (T-2, W-2) issued by the State of New Jersey, Department of Environmental Protection for the operation of a water treatment plant and/or water distribution system. Wastewater treatment and/or collection (S, C) a plus. NIMS Certification (IS-100 thru IS-800) a plus. Applicant must satisfy employer physical, drug/alcohol screen and criminal background check. Also, will be required to possess a driver’s license with a class A commercial driver’s license endorsement valid in New Jersey or must be obtained within one year. NJ residency required by State Statute R.S.52:14-7.

Water/Wastewater Laboratory Manager (FT)

East Windsor Municipal Utilities Authority is accepting applications for the following position: Water/Wastewater /Laboratory Manager (FT). East Windsor Municipal Utilities Authority is seeking a career minded individual to lead its Laboratory Department. This position has direct accountability for managing the East Windsor MUA’s laboratory which includes the analysis of various parameters including biological, physical and chemical analysis and research, the detection and quantification of heavy metals, organic and non-organic contaminants, nutrients (nitrogen and phosphorus), BOD, COD, solids, corrosivity and microbiological contaminants (Total Coliform, E. Coli) in drinking water and wastewater.

Knowledge of chemistry and bacteriology and other work involving extensive laboratory analysis, laboratory equipment, reagents, and techniques are required. Applicant must have the ability to organize work, coordinate sampling schedules with contract laboratories and staff, complete regulatory monitoring, reporting, compliance and enforcement. Maintain a thorough working knowledge of laboratory analytical techniques and protocols established by USEPA and NJDEP, maintain inventory and order all necessary supplies, develop and record all quality control procedures, train operations personnel on retrieving and testing samples, and review current scientific literature to keep informed of new procedures, methods, materials, and findings in the Water and Wastewater fields. Extensive knowledge of water and wastewater utility operations is required.

A Bachelor’s degree in Science, from an accredited college/university in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science or a Physical Science with a minimum 5 years of technical and professional work experience in a potable water or wastewater utility, environmental laboratory, or water resource management and one (l) of those years in a supervisory role. Completion of 4 credit hours in microbiology is required. Applicant must satisfy employer physical, drug/alcohol screen and criminal background check. Must possess a valid N.J.
